How to Connect Spotify to Your Devices

Enjoy your favorite music everywhere! This comprehensive guide shows you how to connect Spotify to your smart TV, voice assistants, Bluetooth speakers, and car. Follow these simple steps to stream Spotify on all your devices.

    Connect Spotify to Smart TVs

    Samsung Smart TV

    1. Press the Home button on your TV remote
    2. Navigate to Apps and search for "Spotify"
    3. Select Install to download the Spotify app
    4. Open Spotify and select Log In
    5. Use your phone to scan the QR code or enter the code shown on screen at spotify.com/pair
    6. Start streaming your favorite music on the big screen!

    LG Smart TV

    1. Press the Home button and open the LG Content Store
    2. Search for "Spotify" in the Apps section
    3. Click Install to add Spotify to your TV
    4. Launch the app and log in using the on-screen code
    5. Visit spotify.com/pair on your phone or computer to complete setup

Tip: You can also use Spotify Connect from your phone to cast music directly to your smart TV. Just tap the Devices Available icon in the Spotify app and select your TV.

Connect Spotify to Alexa and Google Home

    Amazon Alexa Setup

    1. Open the Alexa app on your phone
    2. Tap the Menu icon (three lines) and select Settings
    3. Choose Music & Podcasts
    4. Tap Link New Service and select Spotify
    5. Log in with your Spotify credentials
    6. Set Spotify as your default music service (optional)
    7. Say "Alexa, play [song name] on Spotify" to start listening

Learn more about voice assistant setup in our Alexa WiFi Setup Guide.

    Google Home Setup

    1. Open the Google Home app on your smartphone
    2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
    3. Select Assistant settings
    4. Tap Music under "Services"
    5. Choose Spotify and link your account
    6. Set Spotify as the default music provider
    7. Say "Hey Google, play [song name]" to enjoy your music

    Connect Spotify to Bluetooth Speakers

    1. Turn on your Bluetooth speaker and set it to pairing mode (usually by holding the Bluetooth button)
    2. On your phone, open Settings and tap Bluetooth
    3. Enable Bluetooth and wait for your speaker to appear in the list
    4. Tap your speaker's name to connect
    5. Open the Spotify app on your phone
    6. Play any song - it will automatically stream to your connected speaker

Troubleshooting: If you don't hear audio, make sure your speaker volume is turned up and that no other device is connected to it. Try turning Bluetooth off and on again.

    Connect Spotify in Your Car

    Apple CarPlay

    1. Make sure your iPhone has the Spotify app installed
    2. Connect your iPhone to your car using a USB cable or wireless CarPlay
    3. Your car's display will show the CarPlay interface
    4. Tap the Spotify icon on the CarPlay home screen
    5. Browse and play your music directly from the car display
    6. Use Siri by saying "Hey Siri, play [song name] on Spotify"

    Android Auto

    1. Download the Android Auto app from the Google Play Store (if not pre-installed)
    2. Install the Spotify app on your Android phone
    3. Connect your phone to your car via USB cable
    4. Android Auto will launch automatically on your car's display
    5. Tap the Spotify icon to access your music
    6. Use Google Assistant by saying "Hey Google, play [song name] on Spotify"

Alternative: If your car doesn't have CarPlay or Android Auto, you can connect via Bluetooth (see Bluetooth speaker instructions above) or use an aux cable to connect your phone's headphone jack to your car's audio input.

    Additional Tips for Spotify Streaming

    Download for Offline Listening

With Spotify Premium, you can download playlists and albums to listen offline. Perfect for when you don't have internet access in your car or at home.

    Use Spotify Connect

Spotify Connect lets you control music on one device from another. Start playing on your phone, then seamlessly switch to your TV or speaker without interruption.

    Check for App Updates

Keep your Spotify app updated to ensure compatibility with all your devices. Visit your device's app store regularly for updates.

    Create Device-Specific Playlists

Make playlists optimized for different scenarios - upbeat music for workouts on your Bluetooth speaker, relaxing tunes for your smart TV, and road trip favorites for your car.
